Water Chemistry Analytics

The Challenge

Our client had gathered data on the water chemistry of their hydroponics system over a period of three years. The system had seen variable performance, and the client wanted to achieve improved crop yield. However, the client was unsure of how to use the data to assess their system and identify areas for improvement.

Analysis

With three years of water chemistry data from our client on nutrients and other water components, we conducted advanced statistical analysis and data visualization. We looked at how a range of variables in the data set might affect crop yield and the overall functioning of the hydroponics system. We also built a predictive model for chloride uptake in crops and created a dashboard for easy communication of results.

Outcomes

Our analysis pointed to both location and season as factors that were affecting the performance of the hydroponics system. We used these results to implement improved controls and monitoring, as well as changes to crop rotation, ultimately leading to better crop yields and better overall control of the system.
