I have a passion for solving water chemistry and water engineering problems. I love working with indoor agriculture clients to help them achieve crop health and financial success. I also love learning and working in a collaborative approach, which is a focus for how I work with clients.
To enable a future of healthful, easy-to-access, and locally-grown produce for everyone.
I hold a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from UT Austin, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UT Austin. I bring foundational engineering structure and fundamentals to all of the work I do with clients, from quantitative process models, to literature-based research and chemistry-driven predictive analytics.
Since my graduate studies, I have spent time as a researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and leading world-class research groups at the University of Arkansas and Penn State University. I co-founded a water treatment technology startup, served as CTO for an energy technology startup, and now lead XPRIZE's work in food, water and waste.
Humans can't survive more than a few days without water, and we can't produce food without safe, sustained supply of fresh water. More than just survival, we want humans to be able to thrive, which requires both water and food security. My work and passion for water chemistry and water engineering really centers around my mission to support the production of healthy and plentiful food for today and our future.
